**Hide Re-Releases**
Beatport can check it and to do it separated, the people don't know when a tracks is new or not because nowadays all the tracks are together
I think that´s important to make possible a right follow up of artists and don´t disturb with old stuffs
The old tracks re-released can be in other tab in the same artist page like VA, compilations, etc
It´s no problem of the artists, because each label sign new license contract with other labels and the artist can not to control it

A friendly service announcement: This feature already exists on Crates, which is an alternative way to browse & shop on Beatport. https://crates.co :)
We include full audio previews via YouTube as well!

I understand that re - releasing makes sense because people might have missed the track when it came out.
Once selected a timeperiod however (start date - end date) beatport should give the option to filter out "duplicated" tracks. This shouldnt be so hard, --> if title and artist and remixer is same, filter out. This way, I dont have to listen to the same tracks over and over. But I will still be able to see tracks that I might have missed from a previos time period.

The My Beatport feature which is my main source of music is becoming more and more of a chore due to the amount of re-released tracks appearing on it, can we have a filter to remove previously released tracks?
Its obviously a massive requirement so how come its being ignored by the product owner?

Agreed- had the issue today of not being sure if two separately listed tracks on different labels were the same track or different (the same as far as I could tell) - some way of making this clear and encouraging artists to make it clear when the same track has multiple listings.
Especially important as it could lose an artist sales if the tracks are different but potential buyers think they are the same, or annoy customers who end up buying the same track twice.
It also highlights another potential issue- if the same track/remix is sold through multiple labels how to keep things fair re which label gets the sale etc.

I agree with the poster as well. With the number of compilations which come out each week it takes a bit of work to determine if it is a new track or possible a couple years old.
I review my Artist and Label follow list each week and generally ignore tracks from compilations. If I do listen a track and it is from a compilation I search back for the original release of the track and buy that one - 1) it's generally a cheaper price, but mostly because I want the original cover art and track metadata, not the data from the compilation.
Anything make this easier for the user audience would be great.

This is progressively becoming more of a problem. I agree with the original poster. It has come to the point of being near a nuissance to bother to look for new music on Beatport because of the ridiculous amount of compilations that get released that usually include tracks that are years old but still listed as a new release. Something as simple as a new search filter such as "EP" and "LP" could be a possible idea to look into to help with this deathly issue. ......and yes if this problem continues to get worse, it will cause many to look else where for music unfortunately. I'm a heavy Beatport user and purchase quite a bit here but is becoming less and less. Please try to fix this issue.

Please, please add this function. I swear if I have to hear another re-release of Robin Feelgood's "Not in love" I will become insane! Literally hundreds of times it popped up already. Do they really think we are idiots? If I wanted that track, I would have bought it!

Hiding re-releases is already a feature on Crates.
Crates has the full Beatport catalog, but you can hide re-released tracks and focus on what's fresh.

nope, as per today I've never seen this feature on Beatport Pro on windows.

It's there already in the windows/mac app!
I think you should be able to buy all releases if you want it to. You might want to support one label more than the other. Sometimes the artwork if different. Most importantly label master tracks differently so quality could still differ amongst seemingly same tracks.

Is it really coming? Or are you still keen on making more money from us by not really caring about the product and making those extra bucks with re-releases we (according to another item in this uservoice channel) shouldn't even be able to purchase?

I absolutely agree! I have been stung in the past by re-release. BP charges double the price of the original release.

I'd love it if there was one master file for a track, regardless if it was from the original single/EP or one a multitude of compilations/mixes. I really, REALLY hate hearing a song I like and having to do a double check to find it was released a year ago, yet the "current" version from a compilation is priced at $2.49.
Being able to click on something to "show other versions/duplicates" would be nice.

"Synth with Beatport" requires all releases, otherwise you will not find proper metadata or artwork for your particular track. Please don't drop this functions. But option to hide/unhide re-releases will be appreciated.

My current practical solution to this is to query from/to publishdate and sort by title. De duplication of songs is then done by skipping songs in the list with the same title/duration.

This "hide re-release" option is a must-have on Beatport !!!

@ProtonLLC: example: Kaiserdisco - Jaana 2015-08-10 is a re-release that isn't shaded.
Thanks !

@Touz - It's instant. If a track has been previously released, then it will appear greyed out on Crates. What track did you find that wasn't correctly shaded? If you can link to the re-release and the original release then we can investigate further!

Thank you ProtonLLC ! I'm now sold to your 3rd party app because of this feature :D
How long does it takes for a track to be considered a re-release ? A few days ? A few weeks ?
Also how accurate is it ? I saw a re-released track that wasn't shaded.
Thanks again :)
