Improve website speed, PLEASE.
I've just lost 50% discount because I couldn't reach last step before the payment, even reloading the page was useless. Shopping tracks on Beatport has become very disappointing. Also the track's preview is going slower day by day. Discovering new artists, labels or tracks became impossible. Site performances make me feel very sad, because Beatport has always been my best tool for track digging until today.
Whole site is becoming more and more impossible to use. It seems the code is all messed up. Actually the site is not functioning at all. Just gets slower and slower. Redesing it please with 2020 code, not like 2001..
The same here (Czech Rep.) I have average net connection and average notebook, but in summer 2019 it got much worse. Despite I use usually 1 hold bin for selected tracks, loading previews takes minimum 10-12 seconds and site response on any button is very poor. After clicking on next track I always get message that loading the page slows down computer. I tried several browsers with same results. The only fast thing is download of purchased tracks. It is incredible that in era or fast internet and computers some websites are designed like this.
*cough* async *cough*
Yep, the same in US - I have MacBook Pro 15'' 2018 and in Safari the website virtually cannot be used - my CPU load goes up to 100% and it heats enormously. And I have only Safari with Beatport open.. :(((
Not sure where the server is hosted, but in Australia is becoming impossible to work with BP, either the website is heavy and take ages to reply also the downloads sometimes takes ages.
If we could have a CDN around here would be awesome, even if only the front end and a loading/lock screen.. because now it just stays there forever always loading.
Thanks BP Team!
I've also been experiencing slow speeds in the last month or so. From looking at the developer console, I've noticed a few things.
I have a lot of carts (>40), and it looks like the site is making a lot of api/cart calls, so there is around 80+ api calls in the console. While these are pending, CPU sits at 100% and the DOM nodes increase to around 140,000, drop to 30,00 then increase to 140,000 again, then repeats this pattern. This continues until all API calls are resolved, then I can actually the site (around 40 seconds).
At the moment the site is pretty much unusable as I need to wait 40 seconds on every new page load. I'm used to opening new tabs for each page, so doing so crashes all pages if I have more than one or two open.
Loading the site logged out has no issues, so it's only an issue when it loads my account/carts etc. I'm considering deleting all my carts so I can use the site, but really don't want to have to do that if you can get an ETA on a fix.
Yes I’ve noticed this also, it seems to take a time to load a preview track. It’s obviously got to pull this from the server but it should be faster in my eyes
So its not only me? i'm on firefox and for the last few weeks performance of the website is poor. I thought it is firefox related issue fo the last few updates.
No matter what i click it takes few sec to load, most annoying is waiting few sec when trying to listen to new tunes.
