Club House genre
Instead of putting Afrojack, Dennis Koyu, David Guetta and all these artists in Progressive House, together with a billion other artists making everything but progressive house, you should create a genre called "Club House" and seperate that kind of music from stuff like Anjunadeep or Bedrock. How is it possible that Anjunadeep, Bedrock AND above mentioned artists are competing under the same genre when it sounds completely different. It sure doesn't make it easy for labels, artists or buyers to get exposure or good advice on what music they should buy. This is a problem that annoys a lot of… more

Thanks for all the feedback. We recognize the need for better categorization, whether through genres or some other mechanism. We plan to introduce changes soon to this effect.

Add "psybreaks" as a subgenre of both breaks and psytrance.
The psybreaks sound is quickly growing in popularity around the world amongst producers, DJs, and fans. The relatively new application of psytrance with other psychedelic and experimental sounds is now being driven by a powerful, dancefloor-friendly breakbeat.
The popularity of psybreaks is currently reflected in the Beatport Top 10 Breaks Chart as well as Breakspoll nominating various psybreaks artists this year and awarding Hedflux with Best Artist in 2011. Psybreaks labels are popping up around the globe to encourage the development of this unique style.

Why are WAV upgrade prices so astronomical
I went to purchase a$12 album. the WAV upgrade was another $14. That's $26 for a digital download. CDs never even cost that much. Come on.

Advanced Search Filtering
If I'm a dummy (definitely possible) and I missed it I apologize but a solid advanced search is definitely the most necessary addition to this site. We need to be able to search by all the factors available. Genre, bpm, key, etc.

Thanks for your feedback Aces. You’re correct that there are no advanced search filters or fields in the search results. Additionally it is not possible to filter any track list by BPM and Key yet. We hope to add both of these features in the future.

Why can't you re-download tracks after some time?
I think it should be available troughout the life of your account. It's like buying CD, you buy it only once

Offer FLAC format in addition to (or instead of) WAV
FLAC files are the same quality as WAV, but are much smaller and can include tags and album art.

Hello everybody. Today we introduced AIFF as a new lossless format that you can select during purchase. We’re hoping that this will address some of the functionality you’ve been asking for (metadata and album art in a lossless file). This forum will stay open so people can continue to vote for FLAC support and we would love to hear about your experiences using our AIFF downloads.

Either a Native iPad app or please fix the HTML5 for safari on the iPad
It's basically useless on the iPad, what would be even better is Beatport Pro tobe an app for iPhone and iPad, it's probably coming at some stage.
The HTML5 coding on the iPad safari just doesn't work, it's really hard together a preview playing and certain frames and borders and colors simply aren't conforming

Switch between classic and current top genre / artist / label top 10s
It would be great to have a switch to change between "alltime" and "current" (i.e. last 3 months) top 10's for label, artist and genre chart pages.
This would give people the chance to check what's hot about their favorite artists and labels right NOW and filter out the old stuff which they might have bought and played years ago already.

Hello All. We are currently looking into allowing users to control the columns they see in track list views. This should help address your requests. I will merge any ideas about column sorting into this idea so we can aggregate the votes for it. Thank you for your feedback.

Difficult to Know if I already follow an artist/label.
When I'm on an artist/label's page I can't tell if I am already following them or not. I checked it out and the follow button looks exactly the same for artists I'm sure I'm not following and artists I'm sure I am following. Can you have the follow button change to "following" to make things easier? Also, while listening to the player, I feel like the drop down menu with the follow options should change to either already have a check next to the artists/labels you are already following or say you're following those that you are or only have… more

Customer reward system
Have suggested this in the past direct Customer Service but it was somewhat brushed off. Beatport customers are investing 100s, 1000s, if not tens of thousands of dollars over time into this service and discount vouchers are only offered at a minimum nor is there any kind of consistant rewards system in place. If it was possible, would love to see a system that rewards regular customers in some way or another, rather than the general 20% off (with a strict time limit on the voucher) emailed out every few months or more.
Perhaps some kind of points system or… more57 votesunder review ·

Song recognition
Hello, it would be nice to have a song recognition application, like the ones that actually exist for mobile phones. I think this would be a fantastic feature that would differentiate Beatport from its competitors

A Joint venture with other main digital shops against piracy and download link.
Please consider to share cost with other shops to fight illegal links, sites, fourms. All this stuff is killing music, is killing quality music. With all this illegal downloads it's almost impossible to pay professional people for graphic, mastering, remixers etc. etc. These costs are unaffordable for the single labels, not for 20 digital shops in a single investments. More download for artists means more download for labels, distributor and of course for Beatport (and other shops).
Thanks

Better Sub-Genre Categorization, Sub-Genre Menu & Top Downloads
The main genres are fine and I think the biggest complaint I hear from a lot of users and friends is that Beatport has become more like a walmart for dance music. Because there is no "sub-genre" page or way to get deeper into dance music you are stuck at the top of the main genre page showing top 10 downloads. So you are always seeing just the most popular. It makes it very hard to dig down in and spread the exposure more evenly. I think what is needed is A) More Sub-Genre options for Labels to choose from… more
